Aattu Kaal Paya / Goat Leg Curry

Ingredients
Goat Leg – 12 Pieces (Dozen)
Turmeric Powder – 1 tsp
Salt- As Needed
To Grind:
Coconut – ¾ cup
Fennel Seeds – 1 tsp

For Seasoning:

Oil – 2 tbsp
Cinnamon – 1 stick
Cloves- 4
Pepper corns – 1 Tsp
Elachi/Yelekai – 1
Fennel / Fennel powder – 1 tsp
Cumin Powder – 1 tsp
Onion -2
Tomato -1
Green Chili -2
Garlic Cloves- 5
Curry leaves
Ginger Garlic Paste – 1 tsp
Turmeric Powder – 1 tsp
Red Chili powder – 2 tbsp
Coriander powder – 2 tsp
Garam Masala Powder – 1Tsp
Coriander Leaves for Garnishing

 

Method

  • Clean the Goat legs pieces (Chopped)
  • Wash well, drain and keep aside.
  • In a pressure cooker add goat Legs, Turmeric Powder, Salt .Mix well. And Cook For 7 Whistles.
  • Heat kadai, add oil, Cinnamon, Cloves, Elachi, Peppercorns, Garlic cloves, Green Chills, Fennel, Cumin Powder. Mix Well.
    Saute for a minute.
  • Add Onion; once the raw smell goes off; add the tomatoes let them fry in medium heat for 3-4 mins.
  • Add Ginger Garlic Paste.
  • After that add Red Chili Powder, Coriander Powder, Garam Masala Powder, and Turmeric Powder. Mix Well & Fry for 4-5 Mins.
  • Now add the Goat Leg, mix it & Sauté for 2 min & add 3 cups of water.
  • Allow the mixture to cook on low flame for 4 minutes.
  • Finally add the coconut paste & add little water. Allow to boil.
  • Add freshly chopped coriander leaves for Garnish.

Ready to Serve it Idlis , Dosa, White Rice, Jeera Rice.
