Chicken Varuval


Chicken – ½ kg
Ginger Garlic paste – 1tbsp
Turmeric powder- 1tsp
Chili powder – 2tsp
Garam masala powder – 1tsp
Pepper powder – 1tsp
Onion – 1
Tomato – 2
Salt- as needed


Oil – 2tbsp
Fennel Seeds / powder – 1tsp
Garam masala powder – 1tsp
Curry leaves- few
Green chili – 1


Chicken – 1/2kg
Turmeric powder – 1/2tsp
Chili powder – 1tsp
Salt -1/2 tsp


Marinate the chicken with 1 tsp chilli powder,1/4 tsp turmeric , powder, 1/2 tsp  , salt for 30mins.

Heat a Kadai

Add Fennel Seeds/ Powder, Garam masala powder. saute few min

Add Onion, Curry leaves , Green chili

Saute until onions turn golden brown.

Add finely chopped tomatoes and little bit of salt. Fry until it becomes soft.

Add Ginger Garlic paste.Saute them well, till the raw smell of ginger garlic goes off.

Add pepper powder

Add Salt, Chili powder.

Mix well. Add little bit water. boil  it

Add marinated chicken .

Cover and cook

The chicken by itself leaves water. If that water is not enough, add some more water and bring to boil.

fry coating the chicken nicely with the masalas. Fry for around 5 mins in medium heat stirring it well

 Fry till the masala clings on to the chicken.


Serve hot.
