Brinjal Channa dal Kootu ( Chettinad Style)

Ingerdients:
Brinjal – 250 gms
Channa dal – 1/3 cup
Turmeric powder – 1tsp
Salt –as needed

To temper

Oil – 2tbsp
Cumin seeds/ powder – 1tsp
Mustared seeds – 1tsp
Onion – 1
Green chili- 2
Curry leaves

Method

Wash and soak brown channa/chick peas  for 2- 3 hours in water.


Take a kadai add soaked channa dal and water . cover and cook.


Heat aKadai add Cumin seeds, Mustared seeds, red chili.


Add onion


Add Brinjal and cook


Add Turmeric powder, Salt. Mix well


Add Little water


Cover and cook


Add cooked channa dal


Mix well. Boil the gravy in medium flame till it reaches very thick consistency.


Ready to Serve
