Channa Brinjal kulambu for rice

Ingredients
Brown channa – 1 cup (cooked)
Brinjal – 5
Onion -1 (Medium)
Tomato – 1
Green chili – 1
Ginger garlic paste – 1tsp
Turmeric Powder- ½ tsp
Chili powder – 1tbsp
Coriander powder – 1tbsp
Garam Masala powder – 1tsp
Salt – as needed
Water

To Grind:
Coconut – ½ cup
Fennel seeds – ½ tsp
Cumin seeds – ½ tsp

To  Temper:
Cinnamon  – 1inch
Cloves – 3
Bay leaf – 1
Star anis – 1
Kadal passi – few
Fennel seeds – 1tsp

Method:

Heat oil in a kadai , add  bay leaf, star anis, Cinnamon, cloves , fennel seeds, kadal passi


 

Add  Onion, Curry leaves


Add green chili


Add tomatoes Cook until tomatoes soft and mushy


Add ginger garlic paste


Add Brinjal


 

Grind Coconut, Cumin , fennel seeds


Add little water


Cover and cook for few mins


Add all spice powders , salt


 

Add Coconut paste


Boil and cook


Add cooked channa


Ready to serve


Serve with rice
